Reliance Jio has taken tariff war to Postpaid segment by announcing its new postpaid service Jio Postpaid with unlimited calls, international roaming and ISD calling. First plan under the new offering is the Rs. 199 plan that comes with 25GB of high speed 4G data per month and as per the standard with all Jio plans this one too comes with free voice calls, free unlimited messages and premium subscriptions to Jio Apps as well. And even the company would offer ISD calling without the need of activation or any security deposit in Jio 199 postpaid plan. Though company is touting “One Click” easy activation of international roaming for all subscribers of this plan, when required. Jio Postpaid launch will once again challenge the industry status quo by offering the lowest tariffs in India and abroad to the postpaid users, who end up paying high amount to the prepaid segment.
According to the Jio officials the new plan will be available for subscription from May 15. Under its JioPostpaid, Reliance Jio is offering international calling starting from Rs. 0.50 per minute, which will be charges for calls to USA and Canada , and will go on till Rs.6 per minute.
International roaming is offered to Jio customers in two slabs depending on the country the subscriber is visiting. One tariff slab offers voice calls at Rs.2 per minute, mobile data at Rs. 2 per MB and SMS messages at Rs.2 per message. The other tariff offers voice calls at Rs. 10 per minute, mobile data Rs. 10 per mb and SMS at Rs. 10 per message.
The sam3 international calling and roaming tariffs are available for Jio’s prepaid customers as well. Jio also shared the details of three international roaming unlimited plans – Rs. 575, Rs. 2,875 and Rs 5,751 with 1 day, 7 days and 30 days of validity resp. All three plans include unlimited voice calls, unlimited SMS messages and unlimited data with fair usage limits. The Rs. 575 and Rs. 2,875 plans offer 250MB high speed data every day whereas Rs. 5,751 has limit of 5GB high speed without any daily caps.
